Artist's Who Teach

November 14th - December 7th

Opening Reception: November 17th from 5-7pm.

A community art show for art educators who live in the greater Akron area.

CALL FOR ART SUBMISSIONS:

The 2017-18 school year's Artists Who Teach art show is open to any person who is teaching at a K-12 or college level institution. 

  • Participants may be art teachers or teachers of other subjects who are also artists! Instructors in any school, art studio, museum or institution in the Greater Akron Area may submit up to two pieces of art. 
  • Submission fees are: $20 for one piece OR $25 for two pieces.
  • Artwork may be sold at a price determined by the artist with a 25% commission that will go to Akrona Galleries. 
  • All artwork that is not on canvas must be framed and we ask canvases be wired. 
  • All must include a completed submission form which may be completed in person when dropping off works or online prior.

All work must be dropped off to Akrona Galleries on November 10th and 11th, 2017 during gallery hours. Please bring any applicable fees at this time.

Pick up will be December 7th between 10am-5:30pm.

Christine Paringer Art Show

An Art Show in celebration of Christine Paringer's Art & Life

We will be showcasing Chris' remaining artworks at the gallery in honor of her memory and birthday. Pieces will be for sale and all proceeds will be donated in her name.

"Chris was a talented artist and leaves a legacy of great work for the local arts community. She was a docent at the Akron Art Museum and active in the Akron Women's Art League as well as the Akron Ohio Collage Society. She was a vivacious, funny, and altruistic friend who will be missed by many."

CASA/GAL Show

CASA/GAL

The CASA/GAL Volunteer Board is hosting their 2nd annual event at Akrona GalleriesThis is a juried art show featuring 100 works of art from local artists ranging from pre-school to college to professional. All pieces will be judged and awards will be given to each of the winners along with certificates of recognition to all of the participants. The art will be auctioned off at a fun and exciting event and all proceeds will go to the CASA/GAL Program of Summit County.

Student's Charcoal Art Class

Art Class

For students in grades 4-8

Taught by Alison Rich of Miller South

Students will learn techniques to improve life drawing skills when working with charcoal. They will create preliminary sketches, and a finished drawing in charcoal.
